If a flight attendant says three-word code instead of goodbye, they fancy you
Flight attendants always try to be as accommodating as possible to make sure passengers have a comfortable and hassle-free journey. They offer service with a smile, presenting themselves immaculately and going above and beyond for passengers who are courteous and kind to them.
But did you know they have secret codes that they use when they see certain things on planes? One man has revealed that, if flight attendants say three words to you when you're getting off the plane, rather than just saying "goodbye", you might have hit the romance jackpot.
Travel fanatic @gowithgarret shared what he believes to be a secret code flight attendants say to passengers as they get off the plane - but only when they fancy them.
He asked his followers: "Did you know that a lot of flight attendants play a game called 'see you later'?"
Garret shared that the game takes place at the end of the flight, when passengers are getting off the plane, and flight attendants say their farewells.
If a flight attendant says "see you later", however, Garret says that it means they've taken a shine to you.
"So, next time you get off the plane and if that flight attendant says, 'see you later,' I think twice about what that really means," he said.
However, even if the flight attendant does say this to you, it's probably best to still play it cool, as you don't want to come on too strong - especially as they're working and being professional at the end of the day.
It's not the only way cabin crew share that they find a passenger attractive, either, as they may also say the word "cheerio".
It's most likely to happen when people are getting off the plane, but it's such an old-fashioned word that it's likely to stick with you after they've said it. Now you know it means that someone thinks you're cute!
Another bit of lingo in you've probably heard every single time you've flown is "cross-check". But do you know what it means?
You're most likely to hear it before the plane takes off, and just before it lands at your destination.
A senior member of the cabin crew will call for a crosscheck, which has to do with unlocking the doors for arrival and deactivating the emergency slides. Skipping this step would make the inflatable slides used for emergency evacuations deploy as soon as the door was opened, according to Travel Nine.
This then needs to be checked by another member of staff, just to ensure the take-off and landing are as safe as possible.
